M1 EBA Program Overview & Focus: The first-year* Master’s program focuses on general business management. It welcomes international students from diverse educational backgrounds who wish to expand their understanding of the business environment and strengthen their managerial skills.

OBJECTIVE
The M1-EBA program is designed for students from diverse academic backgrounds, providing a solid understanding of fundamental management principles. The program emphasizes general management concepts and skills across key business disciplines, with a particular focus on Corporate Finance.
Courses are delivered entirely in English by a team of European and international professors, utilizing the flipped classroom methodology to enhance active learning.
Upon completing this program, students will have the skills and foundational knowledge to advance to the second-year Master’s programs in Business Administration (M2-MBA) or International Business Management (M2-IBM) at IAE Bordeaux University, as well as other second-year management programs in France.
DURATION AND CONTENT OF THE PROGRAM
The M1-EBA program is the first year of a two-year Master’s degree pathway It is not a standalone Master's programs; Therefore, upon completion, students receive an official "Certificate of Achievement" rather than a Master’s degree diploma.

General Overview of the Academic Year:
The academic year starts in mid-September and concludes at the end of August:
- Start of classes: Mid-September
- End of classes: End of February
- Internship Period / Managerial Research Dissertation: March to August. Internship can be completed either in France or abroad
- Note: Classes are scheduled Monday through Friday from 09:00 a.m to 05:00 p.m.
- Students who wish to work part-time can only do so in the evenings or on weekends.

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
Academic Background Required for the M1 EBA Program : Applicants must have completed a 3-year Bachelor’s degree (Equivalent to 180 ECTS _ European Credit Transfer System ) or a 4-year degree (Equivalent to 240 ECTS ) in any field of study.
English Language Proficiency Requirements
- An English language test is not required for applicants who are native English speakers.
- Applicants who have completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English must submit a Certificate of Studies in English as proof.
- If applicants do not meet either of the above criteria, they must provide one of the following English language proficiency certificates:
- TOEFL iBT: 90
- IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (no subscore below 6)
- Cambridge: Certificate in Advanced English
- TOEIC: Listening and Reading: 890/990 _ Speaking and Writing: 300/400

Application Document Submission and Review Process
- Applicants can submit the required application documents in either English or French.
- All required application documents should be submitted via email to: iae.applications@u-bordeaux.fr

- Copies of all previously awarded diplomas
- Passport copy (or ID card if European)
- Letter of motivation
- CV
- English language certificate or Certificate of Studies in English
- One Passport size Photo

- Applications will only be reviewed once all required documents are received.
- Any missing documents or additional materials must be submitted to the Admissions Office via email within one week of the initial application submission.
- Once we have received all required application materials, the review process will begin. The Admissions Jury, composed of academic professors from the EBA program, will assess each application.
- The jury will determine whether an applicant qualifies for an interview. Applicants will receive a decision by the dates specified in the application periods section.
Academic M1 EBA Tuition Fees Overview
All international students at Bordeaux University, "regardless of nationality, EU or non-EU status, or age," are subject to the following mandatory fees:
- M1 EBA Tuition fees for the 2025-2026 academic year: €5,150 = "IAE Business School Fees: €4,900 + Registration fees; €250"
- Administrative fees include Liability Insurance ( around €20) & the CVEC* fee (around €103).
- The CVEC (Contribution de Vie Étudiante et de Campus) is a national fee payable through a French government platform, not directly to Bordeaux University. All full-time students must complete CVEC payment before registering for classess.
Payment Terms:
Payment instructions will be provided in the acceptance letter received by successful candidates. Payments can be made in two installments or in full :
- First Installment: Due according to the specific application submission period (additional information available on the application page.)
- Second Installment: Due by the end of August.

IAE Bordeaux University does not offer scholarship programs. Applicants are encouraged to explore scholarship options in their home countries or through the French Embassy in their region.
Please note that many scholarships,"including Eiffel and Etudes en France," require applications to be submitted up to one year in advance.
